On April 8th 2015 the Board of Open Source Matters Inc (OSM) conducted their second Annual General Meeting of the Members in accordance with the bylaws. The main purpose of the Annual General Meeting of the Members is electing the Board of Directors of OSM.

Before the elections took place a motion was made to elect the Directors of the Board of Open Source Matters Inc., for the term of six months. The motion passed with unanimous consent.

From a list of candidates that consisted of board Directors who could be re-elected the members selected a board of 11 Directors: Martijn Boomsma (The Netherlands), Ronni Christiansen (Denmark), Victor Drover (USA), Jorge Lopez-Bachiller Fernandez (Guatemala), Rod Martin (USA), Tessa Mero (USA), Ryan Ozimek (USA), Saurabh Shah (India), Joe Sonne (Canada), Marijke Stuivenberg (The Netherlands), Sarah Watz (Sweden)

The elections of the Board of Directors followed a different procedure compared to previous years. There has been no nomination round before the elections. The reason for doing so lies in the expected vote on the proposed structural changes in the beginning of May. The board will organize a special meeting before October 8th, 2015 where a different election process that applies to the situation will be implemented.

Immediately following the Annual General Meeting of the Members, the Regular Annual Meeting of the Directors took place. The purpose of this meeting was to elect the officers of the board: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

The Directors selected:

  • Sarah Watz as President of the board of Open Source Matters Inc.
  • Rod Martin as Vice President of the board of Open Source Matters Inc.
  • Victor Drover as Treasurer of the board of Open Source Matters Inc.
  • Marijke Stuivenberg as Secretary of the board of Open Source Matters Inc.

Meeting Minutes of both meetings will available after approval at the next Board Meeting in the 2015 Meeting Minutes.

OSM likes to thank all elected Board Directors and Officers for taking on this responsibility and at the same time wish to thank Radek Suski and Mike Carson who resigned from their positions earlier this year. We are very appreciative of all their contributions and efforts during their terms as board directors of OSM.

Shortly before publishing this announcement, it became clear that Tessa Mero joined the Production Leadership Team and therefore resigned from her position on the Board of Open Source Matters. OSM likes to thank her for all her efforts during her term as a Director of the board and wish her the best of luck in her new position.
